Wonderful good news today! Pastor, teacher, friend, colleague, confidant, spiritual brother and relative of MANY people, Rev. Tom Higgins' pneumonia is improved and he has successfully been able to wean off sedation and is awake and alert, though still on the respirator therefore unable to converse.
Tom is working diligently to breath slowly and deeply while remaining calm and restful. Because of this need his medical team continue to restrict visitors...when anyone is in the room he "fights" the breathing machine wanting to talk.
What those who care so much for Tom CAN do is offer prayers of thanksgiving for the healing that is happening, send cards to him at St. Luke's Medical Center, CICU, 232 Woods Mill Road, Chesterfield, MO 63017, support and care for one another and respect the doctor's order of no visitors until further notice. Please understand this applies to everyone as his ability to remain calm and speed healing requires minimal stimulation.
Blessings on and thanks to the loving people in Tom's life for your concern and prayers!
